I was trying to do a bit of research Czech economist Jaroslav Vanek ( Vanek-141 ), who immigrated to the U.S., and taught for years at Cornell. His wife (still living, so I didn’t create a profile) has LDS maternal roots, specifically to [[Woodard-3469|David Woodard (1856-1940)]]. I know there is (was?) an LDS Project that might be interested this line. See Davis Woodard’s Find a Grave memorial for a rather lengthy biography; it looks like to me he may have had some importance at the time. So if someone is doing LDS work, they might want to look at this family.
Edit: the 1860 census shows him and his family in Utah. He may qualify as a Mormon Pioneer. Someone who knows mora about that may want to look at that.
