I am new to WikiTree. My name is Linda Gibson and I’m quite involved with one of the local genealogy societies (I seek out speakers for monthly member meetings).
I’ve been interested in genealogy since I was about 10. In the past few years, my research results have been significant thanks to persistence, better computing tools and online information.
I’ve traveled to Europe…in Scotland, I stumbled upon the Gibson crest in a genealogy library in Dundee. I’ve visited many states in the US in particular places like the town in Missouri where my Gibson gg grandfather was the local butcher. I’ve learned that my paternal grandmother had 7 last names – she was married 6 times! (This was a tedious task looking at many city directories and other resources to develop a lengthy timeline but worth it.) I’ve dabbled in DNA too.
I’m looking forward to getting a better understanding of how WikiTree works and helping others as the situations arise.
