We need collaboration in finding this Civil War Veterans memorial and gravestone. I can’t seem to find any burial info?

He may simply be buried in an unmarked grave on the battlefield.   Apparently, General Lew Wallace gave orders to collect the dead and to bury them on the battlefield.

The body may have later been among the bodies reinterred at the Antietam National Cemetery.

That’s my strong suspicion with this particular veteran. yes

My maternal grandfather was wounded in this battle. That’s a great article! Monocacy was awful but can’t imagine if they didn’t slow Gen. Jubal Early Confederate advance on Washington what the outcome might have been. The battle field is definitely sacred ground. I hope to visit someday.

“The above are probably all prisoners.— Some of them may be killed or wounded, as the enemy kept up a severe artillery fire while we we're retreating.”
