Any one out there with relatives who may have migrated to the Bahamas during the 1800s or earlier by the name Thompson?

This is going to be like a shot in the dark but here goes. I am trying to locate anyone who may have knowledge of a Cornelius Thompson who had a son named Horatio Burnett Thompson.  Horatio married a woman named Eunice Jane Romelda (maiden name McKinney). Both lived on the island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. Horatio born  abt1888 and died on May 1st, 1945. Eunice gave birth to a child Salathiel while married to Horatio but she also had a child prior to that marriage for another man. I am trying to get to know my father's family but he left little if any firsthand information about anyone. And the archives in the Bahamas are just incomplete and dismal when it comes to locating ancestors. I only have the name Cornelius Thompson to go on (no dates and not even a hint in Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, or Archives.com). I may be overlooking this person but only because I have no clue as to who he married, when he lived, or where he came from. Can use any help or provide an experienced tip as how to investigate and find this missing information?

Hello Jeffrey,

There are three Thompsons in the Bahamas DNA Project who have been Y-DNA tested.  Their Y chromosome results reveal they share a Thompson ancestor but their early Thompson ancestry is incomplete so we don’t know the actual names of the Thompson ancestors which link them.  None of them are believed to descend from a Cornelius Thompson.

If you want to know if your Thompson line shares a Thompson ancestor with the above then I recommend you order a Y-DNA37 test at https://www.familytreedna.com/?cjevent=da391cd682c811ec80eb02230a82b82c&cm_mmc=CJ-_-3382244-_-831997-_-Evergeen+Discover+More+With+FamilyTreeDNA&utm_source=cj&utm_content=3382244&utm_term=13710348&cjdata=MXxOfDB8WXww

and join the Bahamas DNA Project.

I welcome any questions.  Most sincerely, Peter
