I added Laban Wilkinson as the grandfather of Matthew Elonzo Wilkinson.  The father (William Wilkinson) of Matthew was already on Wikitree, but not connected.
Nice find, James!

Working on the children of Laban as it appears two of his sons Newton and Jasper served in the U.S. Civil War a wonderful 19th century family group here. smiley

Think I found Micajh's wife  Peggy Fields and his parents
Wow, let us know how it goes Anon!
For Reuben Wilkinson (Wilkinson-1941), the grandfather of Laban Wilkinson, owned 4 slaves in Johnston County, NC.
Thanks James!
This may be worth mentioning.  During the Revolutionary War, Reuben Wilkinson (Wilkinson-1941), served as a Lieutenant in the 3rd North Carolina Regiment of the Continental Army.  Added to profile.
Matthew's brother Edd appears to have served in the Spanish-American War, but the records are sparse. I added him to the space page.

Mindy whilst I've removed Jesse Blackwell (Father of Sarah) I can't add Jesse who married Elizabeth Smith because it will look like a duplicate and will be flagged up to merge. sad maybe a PPP would be needed.

Hey Heather - I'm looking at the supporting DAR documentation for Jesse Blackwell and transcribing some of it to his profile. Noah Stafford is named as his son-in-law, as well as several sons -- including a Jesse Blackwell Jr. I haven't seen anything about any Crow ancestry, but I think the connection between Blackwell and Stafford is pretty good.
Marta there's two at least (I believe) whilst the one I unattached isn't the correct one it looks like it same birth place not sure about death place etc so you need to create another profile not amend the one that exists, But  it will look like a duplicate hence why I suggested a PPP.
Ah, I think I understand. That's a bit of a mess. I'm gonna try and untangle my contributions and clean things back up.
Heather, I haven't had a chance to look at Jesse Blackwell. You can find me in Discord if something still needs to be done with his profile. =)
I think Marta is on with that, due to the similarity with the other Jesse Blackwell maybe a PPP or at the very least DO NOT MERGE needs to be put in place.

Maybe a candidate for David's Father Grave of William Dotson according to the Census he was born in North Carolina spent time in Tennessee (child on 1850 Census) someone has linked a trail don't know if it's all correct but Clarissa /Clara is a 2nd wife William Dotson. It had me puzzled why David Dotson son of David was born in Arkansas. Maybe visiting Father.

Scrub that he had a son called David Crockett Dotson b1854.

Hi Heather, we are discussing this in Discord (are you in there?) Marta has created the "possible" duplicate, and I have moved the children from Crow to Smith.. at the minute we are just using research notes rather than PPP'ing anything as there is (as yet) no concrete proof whether they were different or the same person, some sources actually suggest that Jesse kept 2 wives (hence the confusion I suppose)

It's an interesting "story" for sure LOL

No I don't have discord

I added Lee Roy Ritchies parents, John Q. A. Ritchie and Miranda Lyons. I then connected Miranda Lyons to her parents who were already in the tree. and

Nice work, Eric. Thank you!

Quite a decent write up on Absie Partee Ritchie  Post Master, County Commissioner, Superintendent of Schools, President of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company the list goes on. Details.available on findagrave link on profile

Maybe another to add to your interesting characters Lyndsey Lester / Luster On Records such as Marriages, Burials the name appears as Lester in a LOT of Census Records the surname is listed as Luster and since both surnames exist I am keeping an open mind. Lyndsey was married three times 1st to Nancy Osborn  (She was fifteen) 2nd to a 'widow' the children are listed as Pigg the marriage states Louisa Lawson (but also seen reports she might be originally Berry). 3rd to a divorcee Mary Jane Lester (I think Lester is her maiden name as well as her married Name not related that I've found yet).

I am still researching this line but there is at least 16 children Burial Record on find a grave. the link states 22!

And he claimed an Army Pension in 1907. I did look at the Military Regiment 68 - which is enrolled but the rank 2nd Lt. Not sure how US Military works but to obtain 2nd Lt can you obtain that by being enrolled rather than enlisted?

In Summary married three times, at least 16 children, a Farmer AND enrolled in the Militia. How did he find time?

He's a Great Uncle x? - Brother to Nancy Jane Lyon (nee Lester).

This is the marriage licence / bond for Agnes and William ?

Marriage Bond applied for By John and William

The Marriage is transcribed as Collear, Collia, Colliar, everything but Collier which it could well be the forename is transcribed as Aggia, Aaggio, Maggie again everything but Aggie (Agnes) what do people think?

Let me know when you get that Lester/Luster profile done Heather. That is good for the interesting finds section.
I'm not going to get finished, added all the wives, still have children to add, too many Lester/ Lusters in the area some I've added are a mere shell doesn't help with the same surnames cropping up Boggs, Gambill, Scaggs mainly. I've had to orphan some, work load too great lol. I've tried at the very least to add the wife and one child.

Ms. Sharkey and I have worked on the Cornman line and linked Della up to John Cornman, who took an oath of allegiance to the United States in 1778. Should we pass the line off to our German experts to verify sources in Niederhochstadt, Rhineland Pfalz?

Were you able to get any German help Karen?
I have determined that the parents of Augusta Kullmer were Frederick Wilhelm Küllmer and Johanne Charlotte Oehme. I cannot be certain of the mother's surname, but they are found in passenger records and census records. They lived with Augusta in 1870 and just the mother lived with her in 1880. Also, Augusta had a sister, Dorothy, who was married to her husband, David, but died.

Hi Niels,

Yes, I agree. I had also found his death record [http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=455476&side=2], and associated record in the Jævnførelsesregister [http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=455478&side=8], which also pointed to Hygum Sogn (though it was hard to read, haha!)

Regards, Carl
Hi Carl. I think you can safely put it on the profile.
Ancestor Eva Shultz was a daughter of Andreas Shultz, Shultz-1741, per Lancaster Co PA Mennonite records. Added him. She also had a sister marry another Kreider.
Hi Carl. Here is something about the Kjems line : https://forum.slaegt.dk/index.php?topic=110782.0

Mvh Niels.
Hi Niels,

Many thanks for this. I have added the sources for Nis Thomsen Kjems' death and birth records. I didn't add his parents yet.

Interestingly, I have been looking at FT-1801 for Sønder Hygum [http://ao.salldata.dk/vis1.php?bsid=26953&side=15] to see if his parents might still be living there, but while there is a specific entry for Kjemsgaard, showing 2 families, neither are the family of Thomas Nissen. However, this corresponds to the additional information that you shared from forum.slaegt.dk and http://ribewiki.dk/da/Kjemsgård,_Knorborg.    How reliable would you think is the info on the Ribe wiki?

mvh Carl
Thank you Niels and Carl for all your work!!
Great job, Carl. I think the Ribe Wiki is reliable, but I'd prefer some official source to go with it when entering profiles, e.g. a death record as you did. FT1801 Hygum has a Thomas Nessen as retired father of Karen Thomasdatter. Looking for more sons and daughters. Here is one: https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17217298#202534,38390407

Found in Lintrup (I'd eat my hat on this) the birth of Thomas Nissen DOM ix p Trin = 11 August 1743.https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17217034#201663,38222526  I read the father's name as Nis Hansen.

Niels, I admire your ability to read the really old church books! I had started to look at the same book, also to see if I could confirm his birth record, but... wow... they are so hard to read! frown  The record would confirm the details from Ribe Wiki, where father given as Nis Hansen.

Please go ahead and add anything you find. I'm just helping out/following your lead, so don't let me hold you up.  I'm currently trying to see if I can find marriage record for Thomas Nissen & Anna Pedersdatter.... I'm having a few guesses at where & when, so may/may not be successful. haha!

If you would prefer I try to track down birth records for the other children, please let me know.

PS Is there a site that help convert those liturgical dates? I imagine "DOM ix p Trin" = 9th Sunday after Trinity (Sunday), but not sure how to convert to "standard" date.  I have a few in my own family tree like this.

I can't answer your question Carl, but here is some information on the ecclesiastical calendar for others. And here is a calculator for holidays in a specific year.

Church Sundays can be found here:

Denmark: Moveable Feast Days - FamilySearch

If I look at for example 4. p. trinit., I just google "trinatatis 1743" and it returns the above headline, which I click. And then comes the whole year.

Linked 2gg father Calvin Wymer to Parents (Existing) Wimer-78 and Thompson-19919
Also added some of the other Wymers and did some significant biography work as well as creating the Fairview Cemetery Category where many of the MIssouri Wymers are buried (It did not previously exist, only the other 100 cemeteries by that name)
Great Matthew. Let us know if you need help cleaning up Wimer-78.
I did a bunch of connecting some of the families from children and siblings from Dollar and Harmon to Wymer families. Currently working on Christina Miller, who I identified through a published genealogy. I'm going to work on proving her maiden name and see if I can go back on the Millers (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Miller-94640).
Christina Miller (Miller-13813) now has a father - found his will which named her with her married name.
I'm working on the brickwall for William Dollar (Dollar-806)
I'm also continuing the work on the Miller line (Miller-13813) and beyond.

Really nice work Melanie!! I saw that you were busy last night after I left Discord

have connected  whole line from Elsie Clair up to Thomas b: about 1745  3 of the four (known) children of Thomas 3 were already here, but not connected, as was some others along the way, can't remember them all (and there could be more)  one was, Suzanne Zelma (Claybrook) Gormley another may have been John H so am working on the profiles and sources of the downline now, there's loads to fill in if anybody else is working this line

Unfortunately can't find out any more on the Irish Ancestors due to their lack of records, and also really not sure about where in Ireland they were from as online citations differ

is that the right thing to do Mindy? (first time I've taken part in one of these :D )

Nice work, Claire! Can you help me out and add to Joseph Gormley? Thanks!!

Another connection: Elsie's aunt Viola married Homer Coghill, who descends, from Revolutionary soldier James Coghill. James was added in 2018.

Yep will give it a go, btw I don't really understand what the Connection/Brick Wall bounties are in this challenge

however if the "Brick Wall" bounty is to add that first set of ancestors that do connect (ref Elsie Clair) I cannot take credit for that as although I knew who they were they were already added (By Karen Lowe) by the time I got there :D

From Claire C, moved to this great-grandparent thread

German geneaology specialists - I got one of the ancestral lines connected out to Conrad (or possibly Johan Conrad) Rhodes (b:1743 in Germany, d: 1832 in Pennsylvania) but I can't really check or access the best sources if anyone fancies taking a look at that line

here's his Findagrave (with bio) if that helps: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/17088012/conrad-rhodes  and on familysearch (no sources to confirm the Catherine Pence  spouse) https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L4BK-L69

There are several possible bounties. The connection bounty is for the first new ancestor connected to an existing ancestor, which you did by adding the father to Ferdinand Gormley

The second is a brick wall bounty. Those haven't been announced yet. Once they are, if you break down the brick wall and find one of their parents, you are awarded bounty.

The third is for discovery. That will be awarded by me and the captain at the end of the week for interesting stories found and voted on.

Mindy thanks for that explanation, I'm not in it for the bounties just the fun of connecting and adding x

I have added what I can to Joseph Caldwell Gormley, I am perhaps not the best person to fully complete the profile as I do not  have ancestry access to non-uk sources so have only added what has popped up on Familysearch, though I have confirmed them against Ancestry "hints" if that makes sense x

Thanks Claire! That looks awesome!
I'm working on Mary Francis Benson, Elizabeth's mother, I have found her parents.
Nice Momo! Thanks!!

Great Dieter! I hope we find that line!
I'm afraid this Kruse is Danish. I have already had a peak at the lineage.
Thanks for checking Paul!

Rohrer married Kruse in US . . . likely German line.

found another German line Dieter  - I can't confirm anything past his son Henry

Conrad (or Johann Conrad?) Rhodes (Rhoads/Roades)
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rhodes-4768

not sure if this will work,
https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Gormley-Family-Tree-505 - but if it does it  the "root" of that line is the Gormleys

I don't want to edit that existing profile as I can't confirm sources - have fun!
