"Add an Unrelated Person" NOT WORKING

Question

I'm trying to invite someone and the "Add an Unrelated Person" page is just stuck in a loop.  I entered all the required fields, but it doesn't create the new profile, it just keeps going back to the same page. (i.e., the Add an Unrelated Person page.)

i used the unrelated person link a moment ago and it worked fine.

It may seem simple but did you see any "fine print" at the top of the page when it went back to the same page?  Remember, it will be in green (not red) and will most often show you the 'error of your ways'.

No, Keith, no error message.  It just goes back to the completely filled out form.  This is pretty simple stuff and I've done it several times before.  It just stopped working for me.

I just used the back button on my browser, clicked the link for the "Add an Unrelated Person" page again, and it worked this time.  Weird!  Ah well, all's well that ends well.

HOLD EVERYTHING!  I still don't think it worked right.  I never got the box to send a message to the new member and I don't see the bit where it says "this person has been invited but has not yet replied."  It did created the new profile, but that's it.  Strange stuff.

OK, it stripped out the email address for some reason.  I edited the profile, added the email, and now everything worked normally.  Sheesh!

Fred, is it possible that you added one person, then used the "back" button to go back to the submission form and tried to add a second person? This could cause the problem you're describing. There's a safety system in place that requires the form to be reloaded. It's confusing.

No, Chris, it was just going in a loop and adding nothing.  I finally got it to work when I DID hit the back button and start over from the beginning.

One thing I think I did mess up; after I hit back and input the new person again, I think I did forget to input the email again.  So the bit about it "stripping out" the email address was probably just my mistake.
