Michael Cook B: 1828 England. DD: 6 Oct 1899 Cramahe, Ontario is my great grandfather. He married Agnes Crandell. Their son William Thomas Cook born Cramahe Ontario was my grandfather.

Looking for any info on the birthplace & ancestors in England. There is a connection to connection to William Surtees COOK & Henrietta.d My Ontario-born uncle was originally named Alton (derived from Altham) then changed his name to Elton - so the connection is very close.

I don't know where my ancstors were from or where Michael was born. His parents were John and Ann COOK.

I hope this is good to get you started in the right direction. :) If I come across anything else, I will post it here! Will continue tracing the Cook/Cooke line.
Hi Dodie - thank you for all of this - I will follow these leads ! Kathy

Kathy
This is my ancestor - I have this - though can't find the link back to his parents in the UK

This might link John Cook and Ann Turnbull. Free google book, you want page 121.

Marriages 1689-1812. Burials, 1690-1812]
This might also prove a fruitful link seeing as there is a possible Turnbull connection.

so this link confirm John Cook & Ann Turnbull - John Cook was born in UK tho moved to Australia and had his 2 families there - the children's names do not match mine.  so by process of elimination  ...
