i bought a book and the inscription inside said prize awarded to nettie reid for perfect attendance june 1909 at stevenston higher grade public school i would love to be able to give it to one of her family i think her first name is jeanette? because at the back it says j m r  address high street stevenston

It may be possible to find the family of Nettie Reid for sure.

I am a Reid of Stevenston Ayrshire descendan/researchert and would be happy to see if there is a possiblity to find the correct family. It would be helpful  to know the location of where the book was purchased. I could then try to trace through the immigration records.

I  have found a living cousin for Janet Marshall Reid of Stevenston, the original owner of the book.   Since I have had no response from the author of the original post  can I assume that he/she  is no longer connected to wikitree.com.  I have found this to be a problem with several others that I have attempted to connect in regards to information submitted by others  to Wiki Tree without replies.  Is there a way to know if the submitter is indeed current member?

I had forgotten about the book that I have that was given to Janet Reid in 1909 when she was at school. Found it again when I sorted out my book shelf and I am looking again for a relative that would like it.
