I am merging and get confirmation of the merge but when i do a search they are not merged.

Dorothy Stanley not sure if this is the profile? but it has been merged - one redirects - look at the ID number.

Perhaps search takes a while to catch up after a merge?

Jim - anywhere the other ID# was used will continue to redirect to the merged into number.  (Unless someone goes and changes it in every profile where it was used.)

That's true, but would be consistent with both profiles still temporarily appearing in a search, if that's what Pauline observed.

Indeed a search for Dorothy Stanley died 1587 is still showing both Stanley-10631 and the merged-away Stanley-12514 now, three hours after Pauline's question. Let's see if the second one is gone in 24 hours.

It's temporary.  A search for Anton Heilman now returns only one.
