Hi Penny,

Canada did not exist when Franklin was born and I cannot find a Canadian place by that name. So you will need to correct the place name.

Birth certificates are issued by the Provincial government not the Federal government. If you can determine what province Franklin was born in, you can look for the birth certificate online. Some can be found on the provincial government website and others through sites like FamilySearch.

Hope that helps.

I did a quick search of FamilySearch but didn't find any further information on his birthplace. I added a death record so you can see how sources should be formatted.
