Discard parents for Patience Nichols/Nickols (1796-1835), wife of Samuel Elam Ellithorpe

If these aren't the correct parents you can just detach them.  Click on the "Edit" tab and over at the right you will see "Edit Family" with the list of family members, and in tiny letters under each "Replace/remove."  Just click on that and you can detach an incorrect person and add the correct one.  It's a good idea to add something to the profiles of the removed people stating why they are not the parent so they don't get reattached.

In addition to what Kathie said, create a Research Notes section  (2 equal signs on either side, placed just above the Sources section).  As well as including the parents that are being detached, include the 'source' or reasoning why they are being disconnected.
