My full name is James Ivan Ash. I was born at home in Ashley, West Virginia on January 5, 1940. through my ggm Rheulanah Ash.I have documentation for my antecedent, Edward Fuller (Mayflower) through his son Samuel Fuller (the Younger). This same documentation takes me back to William De Anton who died in the twelth century. I have traced (Geni) records for him back to William the Conquerer, though not the actual supporting documentation. I have several lines traced, from Geni and other sites, to at least three of my Ash ancester branches to Germany in the 16th century. My mother was a Bates and I have it traced back through the wife of Montey Bates to at least the 16th century. Montey was scalped and killed by native Americans in an area which is now the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia I am waitng for DNA results from 23andme. I am a retired electrical engineer with a BES from Marshall University and a Master degree from Purdue University. Currently, I substitute in the Littleton, NH school system.. In 1954 I earned my amaeur radio license and now have my original call sign, W8FNE. My wife and I have hiked all 48 4,000 foot mountains in New Hampshire an hav dine some 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado. We hav also done similar elevations while trekking in Nepal and hiking the Inca Trail in Peru.
