(By the way, this is a GREAT example of a good request. Thanks for all the information.)

Trying to help you find them.

How do you know they were in Ward 10, Boston, MA before going to NS between 1857-1860? I don't find a Richard Bird in the 1850 census in Boston.

About a year ago I did a search at https://familysearch.org for Archibald Thompson Bird. Found the record of his first marriage to Margaret Morrison. On that document his father is named as Richard. Place of marriage was Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA.

"Massachusetts, Marriages, 1695-1910," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FC6Q-M2C : accessed 10 Jan 2013), Archibald T. Bird and Margaret Morrison, 02 Sep 1857; citing reference , FHL microfilm 818099.

This was a huge break because prior to this we did not know the name of Archibald Thompson Bird's father. We still do not know if AT had siblings, or when and where Richard was born or Richard and Margaret Thompson were married.

At one point I had access to Ancestry.com and discovered more about AT, Richard and their wives there. Unfortunately I was too new at genealogy research at that time and I neglected to record the source of that information. I am still searching through my paper piles to see if I can find any references for where exactly I did find the exact information about living in Boston, Suffolk, MA

Oh. Yet another bit of knowledge for my personal mass confusion.

Has anybody anywhere done DNA that matches to Bird in California?

These names are almost identical to my GRANDFATHER's side. My grandmother was Bird, her husband was Morrison Conway. His 3rd  grandmother was Rector. His Mother, Morrison.

I'm relatively certain that nobody in my family was born on this planet, and anyone who is a DNA match is only matching because they came with them on the ship and had no problem playing out the Invasion of the Body Snatchers scenario. Multiplied. Everywhere.
