Hi WikiTreers!

We're on a mission to increase WikiTree's presence on the internet and in person!  (See an explanation of why in Chris' post here.)

WikiTree pledged to stay 100% free, so we need to keep costs low. Since we don't have a big ad budget, our community depends on word of mouth. We grow when our members tell other genealogists, their families, and friends what we do.

Ambassadors are some of our awesome volunteers who are active on various forums, social media channels, and/or bloggers who are dedicated to helping share the WikiTree love.

If you signed the Honor Code, are active in forums, social media, or blogging, and have been a WikiTree member for at least one month, post an "answer" below and we'll get you started in the project!

Azure, in comparing your message to Chris' message and the Ambassador Project page, your message does not include mention this part of the project: liaise between WikiTree and genealogical societies, libraries and historical groups.

Is there a group/project focused on this?  I am not very active in forums, social media, or blogging, but would be interested in approaching organizations to link to WikiTree pages relevant to their collections and also asking for any genealogical research they have done or working with volunteers to update profiles and possibly create free-space pages.

I have been thinking about who I'd like to approach first and am happy to continue on my own, but if there is an existing group or common interest, I'd love to exchange ideas and learn from the experience of others.

Hi Leslie! I'm excited to read your answer here.  This is something we've been wanting to pursue more for awhile because we believe WikiTree has a lot of value for societies.  It would be great to work with you on this and I'm sure you'll have good ideas.  Azure and I will follow up with so we can invest even more energy on this. I’d like to make presentations in my area. More like workshops with an interactive portion on WikiTree. Later in the year I’ll have some time available to do this.

Hello!

   I believe I have done some of this without realizing there needed project approval. One recent example was connecting the online page from the Trading Card Database to multiple MLB hall of Famer's on WikiTree. I realized I didn't have the correct formal resource format but used the direct link as an inline citation or a reference with explanation.

  I have also posted / shared about WikiTree to my various social media pages and would love to help in either capacity whether sharing specific messages (WikiTree generated content) or posting then sharing that with a specific group here. Thanks for everything you've already done!

Am active on German genealogy Twitter chat #AFStunde and am also constantly trying to advertise WikiTree on German genealogy mailing lists. Also wrote an article for GenWiki and hosted 1.5 WikiTree workshops at #Genealogica2022.

Hello,

I have been working on Genealogy for about 21 years. I enjoy talking about it and getting other people involved is searching for their family history. I'm working on learning how to be a better Genealogies so I can help more people. I have Facebook and Twitter and looking at joining more to help being more people to Wikitree so they may see and learn what all Wikitree has to offer.

I have signed the Honor Code, am active in forums, social media (just started), Created a WikiTree email footer, and have been a WikiTree member for 18 months, I am active everyday, I am a member of two local genealogical societies, I have updated many profiles on WikiTree over the last 12 months, I was recently given a Community Badge, which was a big surprise and was a great honor to receive

Hi, I just learned about the Ambassadors Project.  I do share information in the Facebook group for Clan Forsyth Society USA and plan a display at our Clan Forsyth tent at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.  Looking for suggestions for that display.
