I wanted to share this family photo of the war diary, written on the day that Ernest Beswick 9398 was wounded by shrapnel at Gallipoli, with the community. Location: Gelibolu, Çanakkale, Turkey. Date: 25 Jun 1915. Ernest died of wounds, three months later. He was 22. We have no photographs of him. We’d love to know if there is one out there. Jane, thank you for sharing this document. I read the sad lines about bombs and wounds. I see the name of your grandfather. Gallipoli was a horrible place to be. I truly hope you can find a photo of him. Thank you for working to preserve his memory and the memories of your family.
