Torp tenants were "employees" of the farm, ie. they had a small house on the farm's land and some personal farming land, and were required to work also on the farm's lands. They did not own the torp and often changed between farms.
In the Western naming tradition (which easily includes Urjala) the torp names (nor the farm names) typically did not have any bearing on the personal names. Eg. my great-great-grandfather Aadolf, living on the Kriivari farm, was never known as "Kriivari" but might have been referred to as "Aadolf from Kriivari farm." This started to change in the later half of the 19th century. But, as we can see from the record for Henric, he actually was recorded to have a real last name at the time of his death (it is interesting to compare his record with the records around him).
