Deceased family members told me that my Grand Father Frank McCauley and his sister Annie (Anne) were placed in an orphanage in PA. City, date and name of institution unknown.

Hi Annie,

As I do research to on my family, I will keep an eye out for the name Frank and Annie for you and let you know what I find.

Would you help me look for Belle McCauley (age 58) and John A. McCauley (age 17) listed in 1930 Census in Lawrence County, Ellwood City, PA.

Thank you,

Eric

She was present in the family during both the 1860 and 1870 Census, it would not appear that she had been in an orphanage unless only for a short time, which did occur for economic and other reasons.

1860 Antis Blair Pennsylvania. P.O. Sabbath Rest with Martin (spelled Marlin) 30, Mary 26, Anna 6, Hannah 4, John 1

1870 Same place Martin Mc Cauley 40, Mary 37, Anna 17, Hannah 14, John 12, Harry 9 , William 6, Warren 2, David 4/12

1880 Same place Martin Mccauley 50, Mary 47, Martha 24, Harry 19, Warren 12, Thomas 10, Mary 3.

Your Annie is married at this point, but where is your grandfather Frank who is not in this family at all. Right parents, but the siblings seem off. Are you sure you have the right family? Or do I have the wrong family?
