I was only 8 years old when my Dad passed away.
He was born 10 July 1960 in Narrogin, Western Australia. Died 25 April 2010 in Bunbury, Western Australia.

He served in the RAAF from 1980-2004.
I was hoping to find people who knew him if they have any stories or photos they could share with me would be greatly appreciated.

If you add some location tags to this post, you might get the attention of members from these areas.

Good luck with your quest.
I added a few, thanks for helping me :)

You might want to add "top level" tags like Australia and Royal Australian Air Force so that more people will see your question.

Hi Kat

It seems to me the three avenues of research would be contacting work colleagues, school friends and family.

But before I write a long post giving advice on how to do this, perhaps you would like to share what you've done so far, or if indeed you're looking for advice at all.

Cheers and good luck

Hi Kat,

My wife was born in Narrogin and lived 3 years in Bunbury. I will enquire to see if I can find anything. When did Owen move to Bunbury? What sports did he play? The RAAF connection could be very interesting, but I don't have much contact in that area.

As Mark has said previously, it would be helpful if you add some information to the Wikitree profile [[Gibson-24418|Owen James Gibson (1960-2010)]]. It gives some basis to work from and add to.

My maternal grandparents lived in Narrogin from before the Great War through the 1950s. They're in Narrogin Cemetery.
Narrogin was a key transport hub in Western Australia. I'm sure good histories have been written for it. My father-in-law and his mother survived Siberia in 1940 and 1941, then made their way to Australia. They are also in Narrogin Cemetery.
We moved to Mandurah in 2004, we were on holidays down south in Bunbury that’s when he died.
I am sorry to hear that Kat.

Mandurah makes it easier for me. The ex-RAAF I know live in Mandurah.

The same advice is still true. If you can add more information to the Wikitree profile it helps guide the search. You manage the profile, you have control over the profile and delete anything if you do not want it.
