Is Solomon Spafford/Spofford the correct husband for Dinah?

The information that I have is vague, but I see many references to Jabez Gifford as her wife.  Solomon Spafford is listed as another husband.

Here is a source showing Sally Sheldon as the wife of Solomon. http://imgur.com/RSwFxU1

That can't be right; Dinah was born a good 50 years before Solomon. It looks like you detached them already (or someone did).

Yes, I guess I removed Dinah around midnight last night.... only 4 hours after asking the question..... I should have left her connected longer.  I do apologize.  I do not know the full process for something like this.

I mean, if something is obviously wrong, what are the steps to correct it?

Oh no, I just checked.... 1697.  she's born prior to 1700.  I do have my pre-1700 badge, but is there something else that I shouldve done because the profile is older (other than leaving the link longer for G2G to be answered in consensus)

So, here was what I verified.... Dinah's marriage is sourced on her profile.  Spafford and Sally Sheldon had marriage records verified.  I'm thinking that I should have pasted all of those records as a reply to this G2G?

I noticed the age difference also, but that is not something that may not disprove it.  Some guys seek out older women. You know what they say about Strokes and Folks (and no that's not an old person joke). Additionally, I doubt she would be able to birth children with Solomon starting at age 70

You need to keep historical context in mind. While men may go for cougars today, back then, it was EXTREMELEY rare for men to marry women who were 50 years older than they were. And as you pointed out, she could not have been giving him babies in the 1780/90s. Clearly an error.

In terms of protocol, ideally you wait a few days for the profile manager to respond. OR if you are going to take action sooner, be sure to include a note on the profile explaining your reasons for the change, citing your sources-- or your argument-- for doing so.
Funny comment on the cougars...... but extremely rare does not impossible make =)  Of course, i was joking about the age difference.... but that is indeed speculative.

I see the profile manager has cleaned up the profile today and has not commented.  I would be curious to see his opinion.  This seemed as a very simple change, that could be readded if needed.  What I mean is that there was no branch or children orphaned because of the removal.  I will definitely wait a little longer next time.

Thanks for your reply!
