The fifth day of November 1759 I Joseph Wright of Fauquier County being very sick, and weak of Body but of perfect mind and Memory thanks be given to God for the same and therefore calling to mind the uncertain State of this transitory Life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Term following. First of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Exrs. Nothing doubting at the general Resurrection by the mighty Power of God to receive the same again. My Will and Desire is that all my p 17 wordly[sic] Debts shall be well and truly paid and as touching the Remainder part of my wordly Goods wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this Life with I give demise and dispose of the Same in Manner and Form following. Imprimis I give & bequeath unto my beloved Son John Wright and my beloved Daughters Hester Jackman, Mary Russell, and Catharine Bailey, all my whole Estate both real and personal to be equally divided to them and their heirs forever. My Will & Desire is that my loving Friends William Russell, and Thomas Jackman shall be the sole Execu-tors of this my last Will and Testament. I do hereby utterly dis-allow, revoke and disannull[sic] all and every other Wills Legacies or Executors by me in anywise before named, willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.
