Where do the sources go when adding a spouse?

While adding a marriage between two existing profiles, I dutifully added 3 sources in the sources box of the add page. Where did they go?!? I had to add them again to both profiles.

Did I miss something? Is there a way for the software to do that automatically?

When you add a marriage, you have to add the source(s) on both the husband's profile *and* the wife's profile.  The system does not add them itself.

Yes, but where do the ones added on the add marriage page go? Everything is supposed to leave a trail, but it appears you can add a marriage and the evidence you provide disappears unless you add it yourself. Why have the box then?

Where did you put the sources? On the profile of the spouse? Then they will be there.  There is no box for sources purely on the page where you enter the date and location.  The sources go on the profile of the person, not the marriage.  Have another look at the bride's profile, and you will see them there.

They are there because I added them after the fact to both profiles.

There is, indeed, a box for sources when you add a spouse; and one for notes. Since you can add a spouse who has an existing profile, as well as a completely new person, there are all of the regular sections for information.

I have never seen a notes-and-sources box on the marriage page.  You only get a notes-and-sources box when you add a person.  I have tried this by trying to add a mystery spouse to my great grandfather.

You can indeed add sources and notes when you add a spouse. There's no place on the edit marriage page, and those you enter on the add spouse page only display on the profile for the newly added spouse.

The sources box is for the new spouse that would be created if you filled out part B of the form and skipped part A.
