Found a story about a woman named Mary Lumpkin, last name is her slave owner and father of her 5 children. She has a story that needs to be told. I could not find her on WikiTree.

Mary Lumpkin, 1832, Richmond, VA -1905.

If she is found, please keep me apprised. If not and someone else wants to enter a profile for her please let me know. If no one else, I will.

Ok I did a short search today.  Robert F. Lumpkin (1805-1866) is not on wikitree as far as I could see.  I could not find the land deed for the jail but it is probably there somewhere.  However, I did find some census data for him in Richmond, Henrico Co, 1840-1860, and found online a couple of pages from his ledger that hold the names of the enslaved from 1849 and 1850. If you would like to tackle that project and create a profile for them, and a free space page for the persons in his ledger I can email you the notes I took and the sources.

I'll look for her in the plantations project and see if I can find her.

Please see Lumpkin-376 and his daughter Mary Lumpkin, Lumpkin-549. I think is your Mary Lumpkin.

The story attached to the profile is the one I am looking for but the parents attached to this Mary Lumpkin differ from the story. In the story, she was sold away from her parents and used the last name of her then owner and father of her 5 children.

Thank you but I don't think the story goes with this profile.
I did a short research today, no those aren't the same.

Michelle
