I am looking for any leads on the parents of a Thomas Christian, Sr., born (based on his 1850 census record) in Virginia circa 1771, who lived most of his life in Orange Co, North Carolina and died in 1851. This is not Thomas Bailey Christian from Virginia with similar birth/death years.

Spouse: Tabitha Christian

Children: Edward, Robert (1806 and I believe eldest), William, Thomas Jr. (1811), Harrison, Nancy Rhodes, Mary Dollar, Lucinda Christian (died 1849)

I trace my ancestry to him through his son Edward.

Thanks Betty! I do have this record and I always thought it special that they were married on Christmas Eve.

I have searched and searched for clues about who Thomas's parents are. His 1850 census record says he was born in Virginia, but that has been very hard to corroborate with any source documents. I know that the 1790 census has him living next to a James Christian and in the same area as Drury and John Christian but none of these have proven very fruitful. If I could only find the will of James Christian to see if Thomas is named. I've just reached a brick wall at this point.
