Spring has sprung in the northern hemisphere, and with all the greening-up we're featuring plant experts, like Martha Stewart in the Connection Finder this week.

Featured alongside her are:

Which one is most closely connected to you? If you're one of the 25.7 million of us who are connected to each other on our big tree you can check with the Connection Finder.

You can check for shared ancestors with the Relationship Finder. Are you a cousin to any of them? Your Relationship Finder Quick Links page (see your profile pull-down menu under "Relationships") has quick links for several notable groups.

Special feature: Check out how you're connected to other notables by using the green MyConnections button in the upper right hand corner of the category page. Browse related categories like Botanists, Naturalists, and Gardeners.

Let us know how you're related below! If you want to share your connection on social media with cousins and friends, click the "get shareable image" below the results, e.g. Martha Stewart and Sara Plummer Lemmon. Then just upload it along with the URL of your direct connection. (Please refrain from sharing your connection on the featured profiles themselves, though. It clutters conversations on research and collaboration. Thanks!)

My closest connection is 22 degrees from Atlas Burpee through my DH's family and 29 degrees through my side of the family.

I was really hoping some of the connections would be closer as I am the horticulturalist and Master Gardener in the family. It really shows how little my paternal and maternal ancestors ventured outside the British Isles, whether recently or in the past 200 years or more.

W. A. Burpee is my third cousin three times removed

I've spent all day yesterday connecting his relatives, so people may need to recheck their connections.

I also found that his son, Burpee Jr, married a woman whose grandmother was the sister of Burpee's mother, making them second cousins.

Of the others, only Sara Lemmon is related, a very distant cousin

No cousins, but, as a former vegetable grower, I enjoy the connections.
Actually, I see Sara Lemmon and you are 24th cousins 1x, as well as W. A. Burpee, who is an 8th cousin 3x removed.
Thank you, Aaron, I missed those as the connections were through marriages.

A two-way tie.  17 degrees to Atlee Burpee and Sara Lemmon.  The former is a 7th cousin three times removed, and the latter an 8th cousin twice removed.

I'd be curious to read Sara Plummer Lemmon's Marine Algae of the West, but so far I haven't found it.

Does Martha Stewart really belong with this group?  I may be wrong, but it seems that her real expertise is in marketing and promotion, rather than gardening, cooking, or tiling pools with credit card fragments.
