John Jolly Born about 1850

I have hit the wall on John Jolly. He was married to Caroline and they had Margaret, May, Jane and son Lee. Lee was born around 1875.

I have all the information leading to John who was in Haywood County, North Carolina at some point between the 1860's and 1875 and was born around 1855. From there it is silence. Nothing on his parents or siblings or lack thereof.

Any direction is appreciated. I have sent out feelers but any help is welcomed.

I have that information but I appreciate your help. I'm more interested in his father who seems to be a ghost.

Again thanks for the effort.

Thanks to all of you. My goal is to find information about John's parents, his death, burial, etc. I have this information. I was hoping there might be something about John's Parents.

Many thanks.

This is very interesting. Thank you!
1880 census shows on the same page as John an Alfred L Jolly aged 36 years, Laura A. Jolly 25 yrs wife of Alfred, Albert 4 years, and William S. aged 1/12.

Could be a brother or some relative.

I'm running out of leads. ACK!!!

If John Jolly was born about 1850 and Clingman Jolly would have been about 40 that same year, why couldn't Clingman, AKA Clark C. Jolly, be John Jolly's father?

Clingman should be a good candidate. The John on the census was born in 1849 and he does have a Jane for a sister. Hmmm.

Here is Silas and Louisa with a John, Jane, and Mary:

Name: Mary Jolly
Age: 11
Birth Year: abt 1839
Birthplace: North Carolina
Home in 1850: Alexander, North Carolina
Gender: Female
Family Number: 440
Household Members:
Name Age
Silas Jolly 38
Louisa Jolly 28
Mary Jolly 11
Martha Jolly 8
Alfred Jolly 7
Jane Jolly 4
John Jolly 1

Possible resource for information on former residents could be the Haywood County Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc.
