So this guy named Keish, also known as "Skookum Jim Mason", who struck gold and started the Klondike Gold Rush, has officially had an asteroid named after him:

It would be more respectful to use his name, rather than Skookum Jim - a nickname given to him by others, mostly those who didn't bother to learn someone's name.  The term "Skookum Jim" has been assigned to many indigenous men, Skookum meaning big or important.  Genealogists should take extra care to research the actual name of each person.  I post this to remind people how easy it is to perpetuate old ways of thinking.
