Charles Barcroft had 3 wives; need to match children with mothers

Charles Barcroft, 9th Great-grandfather of President Jimmy Carter, had three wives and three known children. The problem is matching two of the children with the correct mother.

First wife, Dorothy Crosby/Crosbie, married 21 February 1632/3.

Second wife, Elizabeth Wood, married 4 September 1634.

Third wife, Magdalin Unknown, married probably about 1640. No marriage record yet found, but had son William said to be born about 1640. Both named in Charles' will "Maudlin Barecroft, relict and William Barecroft her son.."

Charles Barcroft had two daughters, Jane, who married George Moore, and Elizabeth, who married James Sampson. Elizabeth is attributed to first wife Dorothy by Jeff Carter, ''Ancestors of Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter,'' 2012, but no source. This book also mentions Jane, but no mother. She and George did name a daughter Magdalen.

The only birth record so far found that might fit one of these children is that of Elizabeth Bearcroft, b 27 Aug 1635, father Charles Bearcroft, mother Elizabeth.

Which daughter belongs to which mother? Given that first wife Dorothy died so soon after marriage, did she even have a child?

I've read the relevant passages in both those documents. Problem is, they state Elizabeth is daughter of 1st wife Dorothy with no documentation. And the only birth record I found that might fit Elizabeth has her born in 1635, after Charles married 2d wife Elizabeth. Need sources.
Sometimes all there is are notes or comments in historical pages,  sometimes there aren't documents.  Hope you find what you are looking for.

Hello -

I am a descendant of Charles Barcroft through his daughter Elizabeth Barcroft and her husband James Sampson.

Charles Barcroft, 1st married, Dorothy Crosby, 21 Feb 1632, it is assumed that she passed away soon afterwards given he married 2nd, Elizabeth Wood, 4 Sept 1634:

My opinion, based on what I have discovered, suggests that Elizabeth Barcroft was the daughter of Elizabeth Wood, 2nd wife of Charles Barcroft. Charles Barcroft married 2nd Elizabeth Wood, 4 September 1634: https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/9767751:1624?ssrc=pt&tid=189387125&pid=292574337624

There is a baptismal record found for on Elizabeth, baptized  August 1635, Saint Dunstan, London, England, father is Charles "Bearcroft" mother is Elizabeth. FHL Film # 845247.https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/142027324:9841?ssrc=pt&tid=189387125&pid=292501755928

Further, Elizabeth Barcroft m. James Sampson August, 1654, and the age listed is 18, though a 1635 DOB, would place the age at 19.https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/6302608:9852?ssrc=pt&tid=189387125&pid=292501755928

Does this make any sense to anyone?

Thank you,

Leslie
