thank you. This isn't the Marion Hopkins I'm looking for. Mine died in Chesterfield co. sc more than 40 years ago.
I would say forget your great grandfather at the moment.  You need to develop your grandfather's profile.  As it stands now on the Wikitree, your great grandfather shows he got a 13 year old girl pregnant when he was 60 years old, and then he had another child with this girl 19 years later and that would be your grandfather.  Not likely.

Your grandfather's place of birth and death are blank.  Can you fill in those blanks?
look I'm new to this and I'm entering the information that I have. what I've been able to find is on the tree. I know it sounds out there thats why I'm asking for help
That's the way it works.  You added the birthplace and changed the year of birth.  Now it's starting to look more like a possible reality and it will be more likely the details can be further enhanced (added to).  Before not.  Good work, a little at a time.  Genealogy is a sort of puzzle and puzzles always have those pieces of blue sky that don't have any criteria on them to fit them into the picture, but they are a part of the puzzle and need to be fit in somewhere.
Ok Amanda,

I applied records for this family like I would have done it for myself.  The age of Marion F varies from 1846 - 1861 but usually towards 1846.  The age of Easter, Esther varies from 1884 - 1892. If could be that Marion F. had another wife or at least Mollie Queen is the child of another mother than Esther.  Records indicate a child named Elizabeth was born 1909/1910 but wasn't there for the 1920 census, probably died because they recycled the name for another Elizabeth born about 1922/23.  There is the last child, Billy E. for which I made a profile but since he could be a living person the profile needs a manager and I hope you would like that.  Just click to be on the trusted list for his profile and I can hand him over to you.  Now you will want to look for the marriage record for Marion F and Esther.  I think her last name may be Langley instead of Laney (that can be changed if you find some proof).

That's how it works.  Of course now you need to look at the information and make sure the records are indeed them.  It all seems to be them.  There are also a few profiles of the extra siblings which are now orphaned profiles and you can click the link for ADOPT THIS PROFILE and you can develop them or at least watch to see if any new information is added to them.

Besides the marriage record, Marion F should be on a census from 1850?, 1860?, 1870 and 1880.  Esther Laney (Langley) as well.  And when you're really serious you could probably ask for a birth certificate from the State of South Carolina.

Good luck hunting!
THANK YOU !!!!!!  Just  one question now- How or where did you find all this? I looked for two days before I joined this site and found next to nothing.
Oh by the way I have found ester's maiden name spelled both ways. I'm not entirely sure that her first name isn't Easter, thats the way my dad always pronounced it.

thank you! This was my grandfather's sister.  I still have nothing on their parents other than names. I think Marion and Ester were both born in Georgia, but not sure.
