What is purpose of Civil War Project and what they post on a profile?

What is the purpose of the Civil War Project. I know they add things to profiles but what are these additions used for. On my great uncle Cyrus Hughes' profile (Hughes-12799), they have added a box giving his military service information and have added categories. I've no objection to either additions. However for my great grandfather Emery Hughes' profile (Hughes-11750), The box has a strange mash-up of his two enlistments and also adds some twenty lines of data from the source "United States Civil War Soldiers Index."  If there is no compelling reason for the additional 20 lines  I would like it removed. And is there  a reason why the data in the  box  is not clear about there being two enlistments.

Hi Barbara, the sticker is correct in listing both of your grandfather's two enlistments, the two enlistments dates should be mentioned in the Biography, the sticker can only show one date for enlistment and mustered out.  The twenty lines I reworked into citations so they show up under sources.  I also moved the sticker from above the Biography to below the Biography heading where it belonged.  Here is the project page for the US Civil War Project, under Hints for Stickers and Categories, you can find additional information concerning your question: US Civil War: War Between the States Project   Hope this takes care of your concerns.  Pam Kreutzer
