Is he notable?

This fellow is a child survivor of the Titanic. Born in Syria, he ended up in the United States and he has an original name, and three Americanized names.  So, my question is, how to name him on his WikiTree profile.

He's not notable because he doesn't meet the criteria, he's only a member of a notable event.

Would a more knowledgeable WT angel take care of his profile?

As you surmised, he is not a Notable per the project guidelines because he has no Wikipedia entry that is primarily about him. He's probably mentioned in some way on the event page regarding the Titanic, but other than simply "surviving", there's nothing Notable about his life, his achievements, etc.

And as it relates to his name, it does appear that his name was not originally George Thomas. So I'd plan to revert it to his original birth name, if that's possible to be found, and note his more common everyday name as his current name.

I agree.  Thanks for your prompt reply.

Those aren't actually the project guidelines. The project guidelines say "we use Wikipedia's standards for notability".  NB that it doesn't say "must have a Wikipedia article".

Thank you for the clarification.  A small thing ... what does 'NB' stand for?

NB is Note Well (Latin Nota Bene)

I was using the short version, which is the primary method of demonstrating the criteria for a Notable. However,  if you prefer the long version, we can go into that.

Notability is defined by the Wikipedia standards for Notables, which does not explicitly mean you must have a Wikipedia page (in any language), however you must demonstrate clearly that you are capable of having all the elements on a Wikipedia page, including specific reasons for the fame or notability of the person, multiple independent and unique sources that support the person's notability, and a clearly written biography that shows their notability. We also accept those who Wikipedia has already stated as Notable, including those who do not have a Wikipedia page, but have an entry in an official National Biography.

So the simple answer is Wikipedia, but there are other more complicated methods as well. I was just trying to use the simple, straightforward one.
The "simple answer" is also wrong and misleading, though (as it might lead someone to believe that one can't be notable without a Wikipedia article, which is not actually the case).

Is he related to Danny Thomas (who was born Amos Muzyad Yaqoob Kairouz)?

Could be, it's going to take some digging, but I'm sure a WikiTree-er is up to the task.

This George Thomas is Jirjis Yūsuf Tu'mah, AKA George Youssef, Georges Touma
