Looking for information about a Hezekiah Alexander

Looking for additional information about Hezekiah Alexander, son of Moses Alexander and Martha Kirkman, born in Mecklenburg County, NC in 1779. Other websites claim he died in 1851 in Mississippi, but I've not been able to confirm that. Most interested in if he married and/or had children. There are at least 4 other Hezekiah Alexanders is the area, I'm having trouble sorting them all out.

Yes, I did. These are two of the spare Hezekiah Alexander’s that are tangling me up. I believe Hezekiah Sr is the uncle of the Hezekiah I am looking for, and of course Hezekiah Jr would be a cousin.

It doesn’t help my research that the two Hezekiah cousins were born 10 years apart. That makes identifying which one is which extremely difficult in the pre-1850 census records.

Well this site looks pretty official, the J. Murrey Atkins Library- Special Collections and University Archives. Collection: William Tasse Alexander Papers. This is your family, seems to be mostly about William but perhaps if you contact them they might have info on Hezekiah?

I’ll have to call them and ask if they offer research services. Thanks for the link.
They offer digital scans of their records; the first 15 pages are free and each additional page is 25 cents. Even if I don't find what I want, I'll have eliminated this branch. Thanks for the link!
Your Welcome! Hope your search is successful!

In doing research on other Alexanders from Cecil County, I came across a report titled: "History of the Immediate Family of Hezekiah Alexander who remained in Cecil County Maryland," by Richard W. Iobst Ph.D., University Archivist for University of Western North Carolina, prepared for the Hezekiah Alexander Foundation, Charlotte, NC in Dec. 1970. Dr.  Iobst starts with a deed to the Alexanders in 1714. I downloaded a copy from the North Carolina State Archives online Digital collection, The link is here: History of the Immediate Family of Hezekiah Alexander Who Remained in Cecil County, Maryland - Office of Archives and History Research Reports - North Carolina Digital Collections (ncdcr.gov)

Good luck.
