Hi Treemates.

I'm extremely new to WikiTree.  So far it seems amazing.

I have huge respect for what this community has accomplished here, and I look forward to (hopefully!) contributing.

Welcome, Kirk! I love to hear your excitement about this! I feel the same way.  WikiTree can feel complicated and overwhelming at first, but hang in there, and be patient with yourself!  Your greeter probably sent you a link to the "How to Use WikiTree" page,so definitely check that out but if you do better with videos, or are a visual learner, there are also videos that you can find by searching YouTube.  We're glad you're here and let us know if you need anything!

Thanks Kate!

While we all share this tree, I'm sure everyone here agrees that "K" names are the best names, right? ;) (just kidding)

While I usually choose "reading the manual" over videos to learn a new subject, I'm actually watching Leanne Coopers's extremely helpful WikiTree playlist on YouTube right now.  (Thank you Leanne!)

I really appreciate the warm welcome, and am pretty sure I'll have lots of questions soon...

Thank you again sincerely.

Welcome aboard, Kirk!

I see you have at least one Canadian family member so if you have any questions about Canadian research, just ask me or come back here to the forum and post your question (with a location tag).

There's always someone who can provide tips or assistance.

Enjoy your journey into the past!

Thanks, eh! ;)

Seriously though, I'm grateful for the welcome and it's fantastic to have a fellow Canuck to ask for help when I inevitably need it.

Kirk:

Welcome to WikiTree. There is a big learning curve, but it is worth it. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Thank you Anne!

The learning curve does feel a bit like Mount Everest but I think I'm making progress... slowly. ;)
