What memories this brought back. My dolls were just simple little American girl fashions but I got a lot of pleasure imagining some of those dresses were mine. I was about seven or eight and during the depression and wartime budgets most of my friends and I had three outfits: Sunday clothes for church; one or two dresses for school; and play clothes, usually old torn and stained outfits from an older sibling or cousin. I fell in love with one dolls name, Star.
There were about ten dolls in the collection but nothing was
as elegant as your grandmother's display.
