Cemetery location place names for pre-1776 United States?

OK, I know there has been a lot of discussion about location names before 1776 in the United States and that the preferred is to use the pre-1776 colony name, leave off USA, United States, etc. My question is - should that also apply to cemetery locations? And what about boundary changes since the time of burial? (especially if you happen to be in a position to go visit the cemetery)

If the cemetery has a free space page this historical location could be clarified.

Consider Maine. After the Revolution, Maine was officially part of Massachusetts, and did not “secede” from Massachusetts until almost 1820. So, if you had a cemetery in Bangor, that dates from well before statehood, do you call it Bangor, Massachusetts or Bangor, Maine? Personally, I think the first causes confusion, and I would opt for the second.

Edit

I think Jonathon’s reply is spot on.
I tend to grant Maine retroactive statehood. This is especially important to me since my Quaker ancestors removed from Rhode Island, Cape Cod and southestern Massachusetts to Old Portland- then known as Falmouth. So, I want to be very clear as to which Falmouth, Massachusetts I am referring- the one on Cape Cod or the one on Cape Elizabeth.

No, the cemetery locations are supposed to help people find them now, so whatever it's called currently is better. Add the cemetery category to the profiles, and you can keep the death location as it was then, while still being able to find the cemetery with the current location

As Jonathan said, you keep the death location for what it was when the person died.  Make any explanation in the biography.  Please do not put the Cemetery name as the place where the person died.  In most cases, people don't die in cemeteries.  And, if you are considering using the FindAGrave locations, please keep in mind that FindAGrave uses what the location is now -- which we do not on WikiTree.
