Hi just a warning that it looks like that various online trees have been conflating two different families with respect to Marshall's parents. Marshall's parents James & Esther (Henry) McMaster apparently moved the family from Canada to New York state right around 1850-51. There was another James & Esther McMaster in Brock Township, Ontario, but they and their family remained there.

Our James McMaster on FamilySearch: GMCZ-ZJY. The other guy: MQPC-JHS

ETA: Our "challenge" James McMaster on WT; the wrong James McMaster on WT

I cleaned up the relationships and sources that were comingled.

I connected to the main tree through Esther Henry's (Henry-16019) brother William. His daughter Mary Henry was already in the tree (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Henry-8959).
Way to go Melanie! And, nice work Matthew! Thank you for straightening that out.

Brick Wall BountyEdward Lawes (England) Solved!

Just connected Hannah's parents Richard Parker and Hannah Bird and also her grandfather Benjamin Parker and his wife, Elizabeth Laws and as well her uncle Edward Park. all profiles were already on Wikitree just not connected.
I've changed Edward Lawes's wife LNAB from Robertson to Roberson. After careful examination of the document it's clearly written Roberson without T on the marriage record. And there are many other Roberson in the same parish so I'm pretty convinced the missing T is not a typo.
I think I've broken the Edward Lawes brick wall.

Edward married in 1774 in the St Peter Mancroft parish in Norwich. On Edward's marriage record it is said he is from the parish. Between 1700 and 1774 there are only two Edward Lawes born in the parish and the second one born in 1558 is too young to have married in 1774 already a widower. So our Edward Lawes is the one born in 1730, son of Thomas Lawes and "Sary Cullyer" (more probably Sarah Culyer because she is named Sarah in her others children birth records and the Culyer surname is present in the parish).
Really nice work Chris and Guillaume! Congratulations Guillaume on solving that brick wall!

I think that Elizabeth (Laws-433) Parker is not the daughter of Edward Laws & Elizabeth Roberson, who was baptised on 24 September 1775 at St. Martin at Palace in Norwich, Norfolk, England. She should be born in 1767. Further research is needed.

I have to remove Elizabeth (Laws) Parker's parents Edward Lawes-298 and Elizabeth Roberson-3649 because their daughter Elizabeth married someone else in the same parish where she was baptised there.  So Elizabeth Laws-433 have to do build up the Brick Wall again!

Brick Wall BountyDewald V Bieber (United States) Solved!

Morning, in my tidying-up peregrinations around the tree today, I have come across a possible link between Jonathan H Beaver (Beaver-3164), John's father, and Dewalt Bieber (Bieber-745) - a Jonathan Bieber of the right age appears in a census record with Dewalt/Dewald in 1850. I've added the link to that census as a research note to Jonathan's profile.

Although Dewalt's 1878 will does not mention a Jonathan (or Samuel, the other child in the 1850 record), I think this link would be worth investigating further, but it is beyond my skillset.

Familysearch has Dewald/Dewalt Bieber married twice, with his second wife, Catharine Van Reed Hunter appearing in 1850.

This is the FS person https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L7NN-4DB

and this is Dewalt's probate papers (it says 3 pages, but is actually a lot more than that, with accounting of division of the estate between the children etc.

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discoveryui-content/view/949266:8802?tid=&pid=&queryId=1d2c7858cb7916112ce0bae16c8025ef&_phsrc=ZTC12013&_phstart=successSource

(if that doesn't work, its Dewald Bieber probate date 1878 in this record set: Pennsylvania, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1683-1993)

Oh, and the Beaver family sometimes used (or were mistranscribed) "Bieber"  in later censuses.

Mindy,

i have been workig on the brick wall on the granfather, John H Beaver .  I did find a connection through John's daughter, Pearl Margaret Beaver McMasters. Margaret married Charles Royal McMasters, son of Marshall McMasters and brother of Robert Charles McMaster.  Since this is my first experience in a challenge, I don't know where to go.  Need help   Barbara
I connected new profile Bright-4850 to his father, Bright-250, who was already existing on the tree.
Hi Barbara, did you get any answers or guidance via here or Discord?  It looks like you posted you needed help a few hours ago and I just wanted to make sure you received some..
no, I have not learned much.  I did not know whether to go to Lois' profile and add any new info or wait for someone else to do so. I am sure that most of my discoveries have already be discovered by others, but as long as I can shine a light, that is fine.  Barbara
You did a great job, Barbara! Congratulations on making that connection. You can start with any other branch and look for new ancestors, or work on the brick walls now.

I found the birth record for Alice's mother (Margaret Henry), listing her father's name, and am in the process of adding him and sourcing her bio. I also found two new siblings of Alice: Jeremiah (born 1848) and Anna.
Nice Kelly! Way to go!
Nice work on that Henry connection, Melanie!!

Just connected Samuels Grandfather Calvin Locke Calvin to his Father James Calvin and his Mother Hannah Farnworth all profiles were already on Wikitree just not connected.

Awesome Heather, thanks!

I have a proposed DNA match (9.3 cM across 1 segment) that is linked to a tree that includes Jabez mentioned on page 8 of the above PDF document.

Here is the Ancestry related tree:  Jabez Gerould (1 Nov 1748)

Jabez is the half brother to Samuel, Lois' 3rd great-grandfather.

I found a nice local link that I will expand upon when I can get to the museum - Laura Thayer was 3rd cousin twice removed of Davis Thayer who, with his brother Asa, set up the first straw factory in the town where I live, Franklin MA. A local elementary school is named after him

I connected William McClure Thayer (Thayer-4895) to his parents (Thayer-5851 and Jackson-49856).

Homer
A distant one, but I connected William Wallace Thayer (Thayer-4445) into the main tree by creating profiles back to his great grandfather Nathaniel Thayer (Thayer-4233) and thereby adding an extra 8th cousin twice removed to Lois' tree :-) wives and more detail to be added tomorrow (got hit by the C-lurgy yesterday so working slowly :-( )
I discovered Belinda Thayer was already on Wiki (Thayer-2689). I connected her to her parents Peter Thayer (Thayer-5854) and Abigail Blake (Blake-10742).
Nice work Charlie and Homer! Congrats on the connection bounty, Homer!
Added a new "first cousin twice removed" [[Arthur Fletcher Thayer|Thayer-5892]] who was born in Michigan, but ended up in Hawaii with his parents and brother.
That's great Charlie! Thanks. I love Hawaii, it's so beautiful there!

I proposed a merge for Elizabeth's brother Henry S Coleman (Coleman-17086) with Henry Coleman (Coleman-11684)

Hope that's ok. Elizabeth's father Samuel is living with his son, Henry and wife Lucetta (awesome name) in 1900.
Elizabeth Coleman married David A. Hetrick . their daugher, Pauline Hetrick married Leonard Gerould and had daugher, Laura Elizbeth Gerould. Records confirm the connection to Elizabeth Coleman .... in turn this also connects the Gerould Family.  This is all I have so far. Have sources for proof

Barbara
Congratulations on that connection, Charlie! Nice work, Barbara!

It looks like you are still 18 degrees, Tommy! That was a big improvement over the week, though!!
Yes, I am currently 18 degrees as stated. By looking at my branch size, I still have a lot of profiles that need to be added. Unfortunately, there are a lot of profiles that need to be cleaned up on my side of the branch. Dates added, places figured out and connections made.

I have been a huge fan of Lois' since I first read Falling Free. Now I see that we are 27 degrees from one another, connected through the light of my life and the delight of my eyes (whom I hadn't met yet the only time I met Lois in person, at NorWesCon in Seattle).
