Add new person with invalid date format never finishes saving or reject

I am tried to add the spouse of an existing profile, but made a mistake with the date format. I enter the details but when I save it the Saving... overlay comes up and never goes away. No new profile appears in my watchlist, and no spouse appears in the spouse of the original profile. I have also tried adding as an unrelated person with the same result.

I have realised that I mistakenly used a birth and death date in the format dd/mm/yyyy rather than dd mmm yyyy. Surely I should get an error message rather than a hang?

Regards,

A hacky 'fix' for the hanging 'Saving' message: In many browsers, you can right-click on the 'Saving' thing and choose 'Inspect' or 'Inspect Element'.  This should open up the dev tools window. The element with 'Saving' in it should be highlighted and you should see the style rules. Uncheck 'display:block'.  This will remove the 'Saving' message and you can try again.  This saves you from losing your work.  This happened to me recently, though I don't know what had caused it.

That person has a spouse now, so were you able to get the spouse added?  When you entered the date, maybe you had a typo in the date, such as too many days in the month or a year in the future.

As you can see in the Help Page for Date Fields the input format is not limited to just one format.  Most people would recommend entering the abbreviation for the month to make sure that is being used.
