Hi Tricia

Here's a transliteration of the German text:

Die Herkunft der Fa[milie] Fleischhauer konnte noch nicht ermittelt werden!

Die Müller waren nur Pächter und wurden nach Belieben hin und her

geschoben, wie es dem Besitzer paßte. Müller Kinder mussten wieder

Müller heiraten, ebenso Schäfer u[nd] Henker, Förster, Beamte usw.

And here's the translation:

The origin of the Fleischhauer family could not yet be determined!
The millers were only tenants and were shifted back and forth at will, as it suited the owner. Millers' children had to marry millers, as did shepherds and executioners, foresters, civil servants, etc.

By the way, I'm not quite sure what Herrenmüllermeister refers to, but it's certainly not a "master garbage collector" wink. I'd translate it as master miller (master as in master of a craft) of a manor / estate.

Thank you so much for your help!
Herrenmüllermeister refers to the name of the mill.

So the mill was called "Herrenmühle" (lords mill). And the mastermiller there was the so called mastermiller in the "lords mill" or Herrenmüllermeister in German.
Oh dear, I really haven't seen the wood for the trees here.

The most obvious explanation is of course that the mill was called "Herrenmühle". Thank you Danny Gutknecht!
According to some local records to be found on Archion the miller Conrad Fleischhauer and his familie origines from Loshausen in the Earldom of Ziegenhain where he was tenant of the "Klinkenmühle" befor he moved to Wildungen. Also several children are born there, including the one in your tree.

Unfortunately I have not much time right now, but given your permission I could fill in the blanks in his profile during the next days. His unknown wife btw was Dorothea Elisabeth, nee Schlott, from Ziegenhain.
Hi Danny,

Thank you so much!

Yes, please feel free to add or correct anything on any profile.

Thanks again! Regards, Tricia

Hi Tricia, please add tags for translation and Germany to your post.  That way the members of the German translation team will see your post.  Good luck with your search.
