Curtis-341 is a non-person and I don't know how to get rid of her.

She is supposed to be daughter of Thomas Curtis and Averilla but in fact it was Thomas' widow Averilla who married Robert Bristow. She never existed except in the minds of researchers who failed to find the pertinent documents. Thomas Curtis and Averilla had only one daughter and her name was Sarah.

Howell,

What is the source or other evidence that supports the claim that Averilla, widow (not daughter) of Thomas Curtis married Robert Bristow?

The profile manager for Curtis-341 is an active member. You can message him with your concerns and any documentation you have that proves her non-existence. Hopefully, as the two of you collaborate back and forth a resolution will be reached as to the status of Curtis-341.

The only source I can find that says that Thomas Curtis' widow married Robert Bristow is John Bennett Boddie, in "Historical Southern Families", Vol. 12. Every other source names her as a daughter of Thomas Curtis. As Thomas Curtis was born c. 1600, it is much more likely that Robert Bristow (b. 1634) married his daughter and not his widow. See also Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Vol. 14, p. 92, citing a Curtis family manuscript that names the Averilla who married Bristow as daughter and not widow: https://www.jstor.org/stable/4242784?seq=4

What evidence is presented there to identify the wife of Robert Bristow as widow of Thomas Curtis and not his daughter? Cite the underlying sources, and they may be available elsewhere (the article isn't, not to non-NGS members).
A brief synopsis of the article can be found at Virginia Historical Society Library. Search Collections Type in Text box: Charles Curtis Robert Bristow

That should bring up CS 42.N4 v.107 no.2 which has the synopsis.
The synopsis is not useful since it does not say what the newfound evidence is.
I can send the article as email attachment to anyone interested. Just send me your email address.
I have added the pertinent info from the NGSQ article to the Sources section of profile Curtis-341.
