Looked unsuccessfully in Philadelphia, Pa records (those I could find)  unable to find GGpa Joseph Dixon 's parents & siblings  born 1 feb 1813 phila, Pa.  living in 1840 in Columbiana, Co Ohio..   tracked him after that,, but need parents & siblings..

This is worth checking. The birth date for Joseph Edward Dixon is 1819 rather than 1813, but Philadelphia Chestnut and Walnut Wards, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is adjacent or part of Chestnut & Walnut Wards. It is very close to Independence Hall.

Birth:  Feb. 1, 1813 Philadelphia Philadelphia County Pennsylvania, USA Death:  Jan. 28, 1892 Hicksville Defiance County Ohio, USA My GGGreat grandfather, Joseph DiXON was married first to Susanna SENTZ. They lived in Columbiana Co. Ohio where my GGrandfather Robert Stewart DiXON was born. Suasanna Sentz died about 1842, & Joseph remarried to Susanna Perky in 1843., They had children Lydia, (born in Lafayette..now Pulaski, Ohio) John A.(unable to locate), David P., & Mary. They lived in Williams Co OH. and Steuben Co Indiana. Susanna Perky died between 1860-70. Joseph & 3rd wife Magdalena Ritchie Dixon (married about 1871)ran a boarding house on Smith St. in Hicksville in the 1880's. Joseph was a noted Gunsmith and is listed in the book "Gunsmiths of Ohio". I was privileged to visit his gravesite in 2006. He is buried in the "OLD" Forest Home Cemetery on the left side of the road as you are leaving hicksville. Thanks to the caretaker who helped me look him up in his old 1880's cemetery book. He has no headstone at this time. I plan to purchase one for him one day.
