If you manage profiles of family members or ancestors born in or residing in Mexico, or if you're interested in the history of the country from the times of the Aztec Indians through the Spanish conquest, independence, the founding of the Federated Republic, the Mexican American War, "La Reforma", the Mexican Revolution, and modern times, then this is the project for you!

My granddaughters definately have Mexican Ancestors.  I would like to find information for them.  Garcia-1535 and Garcia-1536.  There is very little information about their father's family.  He was born in Mexico, has several brothers, and all of them went to New Mexico in the 1970s along with their father.  The mother died in about 1966-67.

I am not sure I can actually help, but would like to learn more for the girls.

My father was born in Mexico. I know the names of his grandparents, but not much past that.

Hola Albertina!

I am working with another genealogist on wikitree on Mexico Ancestry.  Do you have more information on the grandparents?

Gracias,

Maria

Hi Maria,

I have been doing some digging the last couple of days and was able to find more information that I expected on Ancestry.com. Most of the information I found was for my father's paternal side. I'm attaching the link below so you can see what I have so far. Feel free to dig around. I'll keep updating the tree as I get more information.

Thank you Albertina for the update on the family tree.  Not finding anything at the moment.  Still checking as the Luna line seems familiar.

Gracias,

Maria

Hola, I would love to join your page. I am new to Wikitree but have most of my recent ancestors in Mexico and New Mexico. I am building my wikitree and want to be as accurate as possible so I am holding off on uploading my GED file so it will be a slower process then I would like. Gracias!

Hello! I would like to join the project. My ancestors are from Durango and Jalisco/Zacatecas and have lines going back to the neighboring areas. I've gathered a lot of sources on my direct lines and those connected to them by reading through Family Search films. Thank you!

We have been doing my Mexican family tree  for some time and have traced both sides back to the early 1700's.  Names I have traced include: Orozco's, Ceja, Uyoque, Cardenas, Servantes, Andrada, etc.  I am searching Jalisco and Michoacán. I want to ask a male cousin to take a male line DNA test. Would like to know which is best.  My daughter to the Mdna and it surprised us that distant  relatives 100 generations ago came from Japan or eastern Siberia.  I am studying the Purepecha Indians who possibly originated in Peru and from there from Japan and Siberia.  So I have a lot of DNA work to do as well.

¡Hola! I would like to join and get the badge. I was born in Mexico and I am working on my FamilyTree that is 100 % mexican at the time, mainly in the state of Zacatecas; but I still have some information to add.

And since I am currently living in Aguascalientes maybe I can be of help to others that don't live in Mexico but have Mexican roots.
