Jocelia Gould was born on February 06, 1850 in Alexandria, Jefferson, New York, United States. She is the daughter of David Gould & Diana Lewis. Joselia “Jocelia” “Celia” married 1st Mark Parker on May 23, 1905 (until his death in 1911) and 2nd John Gibbs on January 09, 1913. She died on January 22, 1919 in Alexandria, Jefferson, New York, USA

Need collaboration in adding her parental lineage connecting her to the main Wikitree with dates of her parents birth/death with sources. Father: David Gould Mother: Diana Lewis

Did she have children by her 1st husband?

Thank you

Who really was Jocelia? Did she inherit all my 3rd gg property etc., in less than a year of marriage before his death?

This Michigan David Gould is buried in Michigan. Similar dates and name of spouse. Is it possible he is the father? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/81789248/david-gould

His death record mentions a wife Dianah Lewis and daughter Josette L. Randall?

Odd how similar the names are but Michigan?

The FAG is very suspect, no burial details and no headstone. I have seen this similarity in names while looking for ancestors. Used to creep me out at times, but I have come to believe we are just creatures of habit and use same names over and over so the odds of that happening is pretty high.

One other thing is this David died in 1871 and yet Dianna was very obviously alone from 1860.
Technically I believe Find A Grave does frown upon creating memorials without a stone but maybe the policy changed. No sources either.
Yes. This David has a death date that doesn’t match but the Michigan Family is possibly connected

Went looking for the 1850 Census. So this record shows Dianah Gould with David C Gould. One child in the house, age 1, name is Mary. You give a birthdate of 6 Feb, 1850. The census was done in June 1850, so it could be Jocelia 6/12.

She’s a bit of a mystery as her gravestone has her mother Dinnah Gould 1810-1883 a Josephine George 1831-1856 then she is also on the stone sharing the plot as Celia Gibbs with no dates

So I believe that the census is the same person. I know my 3rd gg is buried with my 3rd gg and had his kids by her this Marriage to Celia lasted a year as he passed away before she did. Interesting he married her at this age and stage in life. I also wonder how much of his estate she had or if a will was made etc. She didn’t have children it appears to hand anything down.

I’m not sure how Josephine is related yet
There is on ancestry a 1855 New York State census for Joselin Gould b. Abt. 1845. Residence location is Alexandria, Jefferson, New York. Relation to Head: Grandchild.
Ancestry also has a 1850 census for Dianna Gould, Female, born abt 1813. Birth location is New York and residence date is 1850. Residence location: Alexandria, Jefferson, New York. No others mentioned

I need an obit for parents especially when David Gould her father died as he isn’t on the gravestone.
Thanks for best answer Andrew. Do you think it is a certainty that it is her with her parents?
Since Diana and Jocelia were in the Matthew Lewis's household in 1855 that suggests that David died before then. And since Jocelia has a birth date of Feb 1850 he was still alive about June of 1849. Sometime between 1849-1855

I appreciate all your collaboration it’s been very helpfulyes

Your welcome, wish I could have found more.

This is the same family as the 1850 census. David, Dianna and Mary along with some other children in 1860. Perhaps its not the right family, as you have a Jocelia Gould working as a servant in another household??

http://"United States Census, 1860", database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MWDN-7TW : 18 February 2021), David C Gould, 1860.

I think you can rule this one out. Isn't Diana alone in 1860. And there is a FS tree attached that suggests this Diana with David has a maiden name of Streeter
Thank you lots of similarities. Wow
