I asked for and received a new password today but cannot make it work

You could try copy/pasting the new password to prevent typo's (make sure only the password and no extra spaces or the " symbols are selected) but if that does not work you should mail info --at-- wikitree.com

I just tested the e-mail password option with my wife's account and had no problems there.
