Advice before adding of this pre-1700 Boone profile?

 can add to the profile of Marmande Boone. This is who I can add: Captain Robert Boone, birthdate: 1563  north Petherton, Somerset, England. Died: 1614 at sea. Married to Joan Claxton

What evidence is there that this man was born in France? A search of the parish registers for North Petherton shows that "Marmad." was an abbreviation for Marmaduke (this is the name that appears in the record of his second marriage to Agnes Harris). Marmaduke is almost certainly English, and most English Boones probably descend from the Anglo-Norman Bohun family.

Also it seems unlikely that a parish register from North Hampshire would have much relevance to a man born in Somerset; Robert Boone's christening is recorded in North Petherton, but what evidence is there that he's the same man as Robert in Hampshire?

As I look at it further, it hit me that it was Humphrey, the old, with a beard, de Bohun that started the de Bohun line. He was the one who took the name and went with William to England. I don't think Boone came into play for quite some time. I get confused about this. There is very little information.

I have read in various places that a Capt. Robert Boone ( think from Petherton, father was Robert Booe, his father was Marmande or however it is spelled. I don't think the name is spelled correctly.  30 years or more of researching the Boones and they are still a mystery.
