Hi Marilyn,

Your profile shows you as a Guest even though you have a volunteer badge.  You were supposed to have been confirmed by a Greeter, after which you "sign" or agree to the Honor Code and then officially become a Wiki Genealogist with an additional badge.  Mags Gaulden is the Leader of the Greeter Project, you can send her a private message to get you on track.

I don't believe there is any TIME Limit on something like becoming a geneologist. There are different levels, such as from  your contributions I see and would think of you as being a NEWBIE but maybe you are NOT....As for me, been doing this on and off since 2005 and being the only one in the family aside from one other cousin, I would Call myself the FAMILY Genealogist.  Might even go as far as being intermediate, no longer a Newbie, but far from being advanced or Professional with all the creditionals and education. 

So just continue doing your family line and soon enough, you will have others coming to you with question ...pace yourself, and take your time.....Genealogy is NEVER finished, it continues on ....

Thank you so much for your answer. I just wasn't sure how far I could go without being a genealogist but it makes sense. I will try to starting doing more with questions and other things I can do. I have worked on Ancestry for about 5 years, but the format is so different. Just stumbling around on this until I understand more. Thank you.

Glad to help....I too have a vast tree or several trees on Ancestry and have been copy and paste method to transfering it over to WIKI TREE...mostly due to WE ARE FREE here....and my cite sourses are more organized here....

I agree the format is different...don't have those little leafs ....but the info is there...Just take it slow and it will flow sooner than you might think...
