Can anyone one please give me any information on Joseph Jefferson at Dalston Cumberland I have him at birthyear 1836 but i am trying to find out who is farther was he was married to Elizabeth born in Kirklinton but I whould like to trace them back to the 1700 as I am doing a family tree

Dinah Marshall was the daughter of Peter Marshall & Hannah Forsith and was christened 26 February 1809, Aikton, Cumberland.

 

William was christened  10 March 1805 the son of Robbert Jefferson & Ann Gelleburn.

The marriage certificate for Joseph to Elizabeth Routledge is  shown on ancestry.uk . Its notes the couple were married on 5 December 1857 in the parish church of Kirk Linton Cumberland, both employed as servants, with Joseph's father William employed as a "clogger" and Elizabeth's father, Robert Routledge as a Mason.

There are a number of Robert Routledges' that would fit the profile all born around 1804.
