I Stith Mays of the county of Rutherford, State of North Carolinabeing of sound and perfect mind and memory though weak in body do bless God, do the 26thday of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, do make andpublish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say, first all my just debts to be paid, then I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sisly Mayes all the remains ofmy person and real estate during her natural life or widowhood and after her death or marriage ifanother marriage should take place, then all my person & real estate to be equally divided amongall my children, Boseman Mays, Dolly Blanton, Stith Mayse, John Mayes, Stephen Mayes, Susanna roach, Sally Mayes, Nancy Thompson Mayes, James Fletcher Mayes, PatseyMayes and if another marriage should take place, I then give and bequeath unto my beloved wifeSisly Mayes as much of my estate as the executors may think will support her during her life.
