Information I am adding for ancestors is not being recorded.

Question

Where do I enter information for ancestors? When I click on the link to add grandparents, ancestors etc on my family tree and fill out the page, the information is not recorded when I click enter. I also entered #427 for Ina Estella Rutledge so I would not have to re-enter all her info and that is not recognized. Please advise.

There is a "save changes" button after typing info.

You may be able to click the back button on your browser to the page with the info then click save.  If you have closed the window check your history file and may be go back.

make sure you do not have two screens open for the same person.  May not help just wanted to get quick answer. mike

It is hard to follow with out direct communication may be one of the supervisors can help. Just did not want you to loose a screen ful of info.

If you are adding the say father of a person the small screen you input data has a button bottom left "add father for ???"

Some times data is save when you press the enter key after typing data into a field ie after entering first name and then pressing enter.

When enter data in the biography section there is a "save changes" button bottom left.

Some times data is save but you need to  force a reload of the web page on my browser "hold down ctrl key and tap F5 key"

Make sure when you think you have saved the info. Should be message on the top in yellow "changes saved" perhaps there is a problem reported there, ie you did not enter a last name, it is required if unknown type in "Unknown".

Hi Renee,

Are you entering "#427" or "Rutledge-427"? If you are just entering 427 it won't work because each WikiTree ID is the surname at birth followed by a number. Ina is the 427th Rutledge entered, so her profile is Rutledge-427. 427 alone doesn't mean anything because there are lots of surnames that have more than 427 profiles here!
