Why does using <BR> in named reference cause errors -

Warning: Check the data.

1. The named reference "test" has no source information.Help
See "<ref name="test"/>" at line #53 which has no defining <ref name="test">...</ref>

The result looks fine.

Also, is there a way to indent while in named text?

Hi Roger. This problem with <br> or other tags inside a ref was accidentally introduced in a recent WikiTree software update, and a fix is being worked on. See this link.

It shouldn't matter whether you use <br> or <br/>. Technically the latter may be more correct, but both work under normal circumstances.

Have you tried using colons at the start of lines to indent within <ref>...</ref> (assuming that's the "named text" you mean)? I'm not sure whether that will work or not. If it doesn't, I fear indenting there may not be possible.
