Hessian soldiers also fought for England during the French and Indian War. In 1710 England's General Hunter arrived with 3000 Palatine's who had fled to England, many settling in NY State and Pennsylvania. In 1711 the English mustered 1000 of them in the then British colonies who participated in the failed attacked on the French in Canada that year. They fought for the British during the Revolutionary war at Saratoga NY. Of all this 1,000's of the mostly nameless that came from England and Europe, both as civilian or soldier, were killed, captured. enslaved by their adversaries or starved to death serving during the wars.
