VanKleek-42 and VanKleeck-1 appear to represent the same person because: same birth place, spouse parents on VanKleek-42 are incorrect. The place of death is incorrect. VanKleeck-1 is the most complete and correct.

Are you sure they aren't different people?

If Eleanor VanKleek (-1783) and Eleanor (VanKleeck) Shook (abt.1750-abt.1838) are duplicates, then John A Mullen (1782-1849)  and John A Mullen (1782-1861) and Mary (Grant) Mullen (1784-1861) and Mary (Grant) Mullen (abt.1783-) would also need to duplicates.  The differences in death dates would need to be resolved.

"A geography and history of the county of Digby, Nova Scotia", by Wilson, Isaiah W., 1848-1928; Belleville, Ont. : Mika Studio, 1972; Chapter XXIV. Pages 348-349, digital image
John [Mullen, son of Peter Mullen and Eleanor Van Kleeck] was appenticed to Deacon David Shook, blacksmith, who married John's widowed mother Eleanor Mullen. Mr Shook emigrated to Upper Canada and died soon after landing, 1 November 1834. She [Eleanor] died in 1838. Aged 88 years.

That source citation and that paragraph of text were in the biography section of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/VanKleeck-1 but they were separate paragraphs and the profile did not indicate which content was associated with which source. Based on your statement here, I have revised the profile to identify that text as coming directly from that book. Thanks! Unfortunately, Mr. Wilson apparently did not indicate where he got his information about the family, but identification of the source of that paragraph is a bit of progress.

There are other sources identified in isolated locations in the profile, and other content in the profile that needs to be properly attributed to specific sources. The profile is Open and can be edited by any Wiki Genealogist member.  Members should not expect to rely on project leaders to make all needed improvements to profiles that have a project as a manager.

Yesterday I changed the proposed merge to an unmerged match. The two profiles are connected to different parents, which is a serious issue that prevents a merge.

I observed that sourcing on both profiles was very weak. More research may be needed to find evidence to confirm the family relationships.
